Written in 2003 by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, creators of the modern classic The Gruffalo, this marks the seventh BBC One adaptation by Magic Light Pictures of a Donaldson/Scheffler children’s book. The Snail And The Whale is a Magic Light Pictures production, acquired by Charlotte Moore and Tommy Bulfin for BBC One. The producers are Michael Rose and Martin Pope of Magic Light Pictures and directors are Max Lang and Daniel Snaddon.
